Salmon and Cauli Mash

Salmon is a fantastic source of omega 3 rich, anti-inflammatory fatty acids for brain and heart health. The western diet is often lacking in omega 3 fats, making this recipe a weekly go to in my household.

The cauliflower mash will blow your mind! It feels like you are eating potato mash minus the carbs and the calories. I love cauli mash as a way to bump up the veggie portion of the plate.

This recipe is simply protein, veggies and healthy fat, made with love. 


Ingredients (serves 2)

2 salmon filets (100g female, 180g male)

Broccolini, washed ends removed

Green beans, washed ends removed

1 lemon, washed

½ head cauliflower, chopped into floret size pieces

30g smooth Danish feta (optional)

Olive oil

Sea salt and black pepper to season



Place cauliflower and greens in a steamer / steaming basket and steam until tender (approx 15 min)

Heat 1 teaspoon oil in a non-stick pan to medium

Season salmon with salt and pepper

Place salmon in pan skin side down and cook for 4-5 minutes, until about 70% cooked

Turn and cook for another 3-5 minutes, salmon should be slightly pink in the middle

Place steamed cauliflower and feta in a food processor and whip until it reaches a mash consistency

Serve salmon, cauliflower mash and greens seasoned with salt and pepper and a squeeze of fresh lemon
